The concept of OCEAN FREAKS JAPAN's CAPTCHA is to make a “light but powerful” reel.

The reason Captcha is lightweight is that it is a dedicated slow jigging reel. The equipment used for slow jigging must be well balanced, so there is no reason to increase the resistance of the reel by adding thickness and therefore weight.

Slowjiggers use a maximum PE 4 braid for slow jigging, so if we forcefully pull up a very large specimen in a fight, the braid will break before damaging the reel. Therefore, it is useless to design the frame of the reel in an ultra reinforced way as it can be the case with the trolling reels.

The material chosen for the reel frame is aluminum. With unique processing technology, our frame displays better quality and strength. In addition, CAPTCHAs have a very simple internal structure. This is not done to reduce costs, but simply to reduce the chances of a malfunction occurring on the spool.

Other brands may use 3-4 pieces to build the drive gear, but OCEANFREAKS managed to build it with 2 pieces to get the same, if not better, performance of the drive gear.

So what does it mean by "mighty"? Powerful in this regard refers to the design of the reel structure, gear ratio, spool diameter, bearing size, and handle length. By intelligently combining these components, we have produced a spool that is effortless but with high in-line retrieval capacity.
